Jambo! AFRICA!

Inje is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. There are many lined up events for this celebration. One of it is 2009 Culture-in-us, INJE : JAMBO! AFRICA! from 21st May - 4th June.
It's jointly organised by Inje University and the Africa Art Museum. :)

I had my first African experience in Korea! I was mesmerised by its music and dance. They can really sing and dance well. I am already thinking about visiting Africa! :p I wonder when will that be. lalalaaa~ :p

I think the performance is known as AANINKA, and they performed the following:
  1. Concernt Percussion
  2. Zagroby
  3. Mandigue
  4. Ndomola
  5. Mbalax
  6. Mbalax
  7. Zyglibity

They pulled the some of the crowd to the stage to dance with them.

Inje Music Festival 2009

Inje University is having its Music Festival for 3 days from 20th - 22nd of May. The festival is mainly organised by the students. I'm so truly impressed by the organising committee. Everything was done so professionally! It was like a grand festival covered by real TV program. Well well, there's School of Broadcasting in Inje, no wonder these students are so professional.

On Wednesday (20th) night, the festival started with Inje 25th Singing Competition. I was again amazed by the singing quality of Inje students.(No wonder there are so many Norebang (karaoke) in Korea!) There were so good! Some of them sound like a commercial artist. :p Oh, the stage, the MC, the broadcasting crews and the working committee were simply excellent. They managed to get some popular artist to grace the event too. Popular singers were also invited for both Thursday and Friday.

The MC interviewing the contestant. Note the camera crews.

Another contestant- a group entry. Oh, they harmonised so well.

This guy sang with such high pitch! He was good too.

Fireworks! This came as a complete surprise!

A pleasant one! :)

While waiting for the popular artist to come, an interview was done inside the building, and it was broadcasted to us who were outside the building. So cool right?

One of the popular singer. Note the number of cameras recording her performance? :p

The students have turned the big car park into some street cafe. There were so many food stalls and well as games stall. It was so grand, like a big carnival. It was really nice walking around, reminded me of my university days. But our festival was nothing like this. Nothing in such grand scale... This really put us to shame.. :p

Su Kyeong and Anne. :)

One of the games stall.

Heh, this is funny. The guys will stand behind this board. Then people can throw water balloons at them, of course with a price. :p

Some girls throwing water balloons at the guys. Stress relieving game, eh. :p

"Made in China" cafe. The waitresses were in Cheongsam :p

Tables and chairs from the lab? :p

Rocky and his friend in the kitchen~ Asked if he can cook well. He told me that he worked in the kitchen during his military service. :p
